Hello!
Last Saturday I went to Floriade with tante Alfa and tante Sheila. We walked through the Commonwealth park. This was my last visit to Floriade :(
I took all the pictures here by myself with my pink pocket camera.
Me and tante Sheila
The path to floriade
This is a bird that's opening its wings
We saw a lot of flowers
The three of us: me, tante Alfa and tante Sheila (wearing glasses)
So many beautiful flowers
We walked through a little park
We saw gnomes. Do you know the National Gnomery of Australia? It's written on the sign. It is supposed to be The Nationa Gallery of Australia ....
Me and the gnome that we made, it's colorful isn't it?
Me and all of the beautiful flowers.
It's snowing! Just kidding ^_^
Me and the frog man.
Thank you so much, Tante Alfa and Tante Sheila.
Bye bye Floriade! I wish I can go there again someday...

Indonesian Festival
Hello,
We went to the Indonesian Embassy on 8 Darwin Avenue Yarralumla, Canberra, to celebrate the Indonesian Festival last Sunday.
There were hundreds of spectators, from babies to grandpas and grandmas, enjoyed Indonesian food; musical and dance performances; and fashion show.
These are Tante Ruri and her baby.
This is Asha with her butterfly face painting.
These are Om Sa'at, Tante Medri and Tante Sheila.
Hey, that's me and my little friends. We sang Dari Sabang sampai Merauke, Head shoulders knees and toes, Naik kereta api and Balonku ada lima. That's for the first time I had a chore as an MC. I was so nervous at that time, that I almost forgot the title of the songs that we were going to sing.
This is a choir from ANU. They sang Pak ketipak ketipung, Waltzing Matilda, Tanah Air and Ekspresi.
This is a vocal group from the University of Canberra. They sang Sajojo, Apuse, Sik Sik Sibatumanikam and Cucak rowo.
This is an Australian musician. He wrote and sang his own songs.
This is the Indonesian ambassador for Australia and Vanuatu, Mr. Primo Alui Joelianto. He sang some Indonesian old songs. Well, my mom likes Lilin-lilin kecil that he sang, but not other songs.
These are Pak Gede and his friends.
These are Om Nugi and his friends. Om Nugi is on the drum, Tante Miranti is on the keyboard.
This is Golek dance from Central Java. They danced beautifully! I like it.
This is Ngarojeng dance from Betawi.
This is the fashion show. Look at those beautiful ladies. They are amazing!
After the show, the models danced with the spectators. Selayang Pandang.
I really enjoyed the food and the performances. I love Indonesia!

Indonesian National Orchestra
Hello,
Last Friday, Indonesian National Orchestra performed at Llwelyn Hall, ANU. The orchestra consists of a huge range of percussion, string, plucked and wind instruments from all over Indonesia. There are parts of gamelan, sasando, sitar, rebana, kolintang, rebab, ketipung, seruling, kendang, and many others. The majority of the instruments are made of natural materials, including bamboo, lontar (leaves of a fan palm) and timber. The orchestra was lead by Mr. Franki Raden. I think it is very difficult to combine many kinds of traditional musical instruments into a musical harmony.
