Mid-year record 2010

Hi! I received my mid-year record 2010 this afternoon. Do you want to know?

Alhamdulillah, I've got the continuum "consistent key" (the highest key) on 13 of 16 attitude to learning and community. My 13 continuum consistent keys are: I am enthusiastic about learning, pursues knowledge, committed to "doing my best", sets goals and works towards them, perseveres when faced with challenges, shows respect and concern for others and their rights, accepts differences in others, reflects on own learning and personal development, cooperates with others, resolves conflict and negotiates effectively, demonstrates social and community responsibility, demonstrates an appropriate level of independence, takes responsibility for self and own actions.

The three continuum "usually keys" are: communicates effectively, shows self confidence and displays initiative.

Alhamdulillah, my teacher, Miss B, gave me "outstanding" for my overall effort and behavior! My learner profile reflections are knowledgeable, caring and principled. I had overall strengths in art, maths and participation in learning. I am in Year two, but my reading level is 26, which is usually for Year three students. However, I still have to work hard on reading comprehension and I have to be brave for asking question and be a risk taker!

Miss B commented: Aisha is a dedicated student who work hard in all areas of school. She is well liked by her peers and is achieving a high standard. Keep up the fabulous work, Aisha!

Mom: I am very proud of you, Little One. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the world. Thank you very much, Miss B.
Mom: Aisha, why do you have 21 days of absent this semester??? Cause you always choose to be with me rather than going to school!!! ^_^

Girls

A letter for my mom

You like to splash me
Tickle me
Catch me,
But I can't ....
It's just not fair!!!

You always have a secret
I want to know that secret
But you don't let me know it
And you don't let me have one

I like it when you read me a story
Hug me
Sing a song
Dance
Play music
Draw
Have an adventure
Teach me some karate moves
Make noodle or es teler

You are naughty
But I always love you everyday
I love you at home and I miss you at school
I love you everywhere when I go with you, mom
I love you much much much much more than anyone.

But I know what's in your heart
You are laughing ^_^

Mystery of the footsteps

Budhe Iwu, my mom and I were raking the leaves in the garden this morning. Our garden was messy. Who did it? Suddenly I saw a big footstep.

"Budhe, Look! There is a big footstep!" I cried. Budhe thought Andra might do that. My mom couldn't believe it: Why did he do that in the middle of the winter night?

Om Fajri looked around the garden. He found other big footstep and another one, surrounded by little deep holes. What could it be? Budhe was afraid that last night a bad guy might visit our house, or could it be a big foot? Hahaha ...... We think someone using walking stick might enjoy our garden last night. Budhe was still worried. The mystery remained unsolved ...... Let's wait ......

Lake Burley Griffin

This is my drawing entitled "Lake Burley Griffin". I really had a very good day with my mom in the lake.

Saturday adventure

This afternoon we went to Commonwealth Park in the Lake Burley Griffin again. We saw a beautiful half rainbow from Captain Cook water jet curtain.

We saw two beautiful black swans swimming in the lake. My mom imagined "The Swan Lake" ballet, Tchaikovsky ......

My mom was surprised, cause suddenly the black swans were flying. She's not ready to take the picture.

Carillon, a tower as a commemoration of the founding of Canberra as a national capital. Signed by Queen Elizabeth II in 1970. Every hour the bell inside the tower will sound "ding dong ding dong ..."

In honour of those of the Australian merchant navy who gave their lives for their country and have no grave but the sea.

Home sweet home

Budhe Iwu has come home from the hospital. I gave her a welcome picture. I draw a house. It's the house where we live. I really like to live here. On the back of the picture my mom told me to write: I pray that you will get better soon. I love you, Budhe. Home sweet home.

Kungfu Panda

I have a brother. He looks like Kungfu Panda, cause he likes to eat, big and tall, but his heart is small. He holds a green-belt karate, but he likes "kata" more than "komite". He has very good words, told by Master Oogway for Kungfu Panda, so he can become a great dragon warrior.
Master Oogway:
Quit? Don't quit! Noodles? Don't noodles!
You are too concern with what will happen.
Yesterday is a history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
But today is a gift.

How day and night work

I am learning how day and night work at school today. We have day and night because the Earth rotates. The Earth spins slowly all the time, but we don't feel any movement because it turns smoothly and at the same speed."Day" occurs on the side of the Earth facing the Sun. "Night" occurs when the Earth's rotation turns that side away from the Sun.

Moving

Next month everybody in the second floor will move downstair to the ground level. My mom will be in the same room with Barbara Edgar. I like Barbara. She is very nice.

Black goose

Last time my mom and I went to the Lake Burley Griffin. It has Captain Cook water jet. We saw beautiful rainbow from the water jet. We also saw many birds flying and heard them chirping happily.

Then, three weeks ago Budhe Iwu and I went to Commonwealth Park, on the north side of Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra. The park is very beautiful. There were some black geese. Budhe Iwu took the picture of the goose with her cell phone. My mom wondered where all animals will go during the winter. The water in the lake may be frozen during the winter. Are they going to migrate to a warmer place?

Don't let the panda drive the bus

Don't let the panda drive the bus!

Hi! I am the bus driver. I wanna leave for a little while. So, could you please look after my bus? Oh, and remember: don't let the panda drive the bus! Thanks!

Panda: Can I drive the bus, please? Please ....? I'll be careful. I promise! What if I give you a surprise? A muffin? A cupcake? It's just a bus! Let me drive it! Don't tell the bus driver! Finger cross!

Bus driver: Hi, I am back! You don't let the panda drive the bus, do you? Great! Thanks a lot!

Panda: It's just not fair!!!

Flowers

Hello,
Do you know that Budhe Iwu has a lot of flowers? I love flowers.
Look at the picture! This is the pink rose. I planted it with Om Fajri. Pink is the color of my heart. My mom's heart is white.

Budhe Iwu also has ground orchid. She put it inside the house cause she is afraid that the orchid will be chilled outside. It is winter now. It is amazing! The orchid has five stems and each stem has more than ten bulbs. One of the stem has 17 bulbs! Budhe said that the orchid usually blooms in September (early of spring), but this is unusual. It blooms twice a year. Maybe because we love it. We take a good care of it. We even talk to the orchid. The color of the orchid is purple. I really want to see it!

The last picture is the mini orchid, a special gift from Om Nugi for Budhe Iwu on the last mother's day. It is also beautiful.

Stepping stone

I like to have an adventure. On Sunday I went to ANU with my mom. I like to walk on the stepping stone. It was fun! Two weeks ago Budhe Iwu and I went to Commonwealth park. I rode my bicycle and Budhe Iwu walked on the walk side.

In the library

I like reading books. My favorite book is Schumann the shoeman. It tells about a shoemaker that had so many customers. He made different shoes for everybody. One day there was a shoe factory that made many shoes everyday. The shoes had the same color and much cheaper, so everybody began to buy them. After that, Schumann didn't have customers anymore. He moved to the forest. He made very nice and different shoes for every animal in the forest. Until one day, he made 50 different pairs of shoes for centipede. When he finished the last shoe, he passed away. All animals were very sad. The centipede was very upset. She couldn't wear the shoes. She would rather hang them in the tree. One day there was a bird trying the shoes. She liked them. She wore the shoes and flying to the city where the air was dark because of the pollution from the shoe factory. She sneezed .... a ... a ... a .... shoe!!! The shoe fell to the ground where Schumann used to lived. My mom told me that the story is very nice. It tells us about the circle of life. One day we are on the top, but one day we could be on the bottom. She told me that we have to be ready for everything.

How to make a book

You need some different color of papers, ribbons and a sticky tape and put the ribbon on the middle top of the sheet paper and the middle down of the sheet paper, and you have to do it all the way straight that you've done it. You can decorate it with some hearts or something else, and you can write something in there, and it is finish!

My best friends

I have two best friends in Christmas Beetle's class. Look at our picture! From left: me, Abigail, Sophia. I always play with them, and I like them. Abigail always takes her water bottle out at recess and lunchtime and she call it Mr water bottle. If her water bottle falls down, she always says, "Mr water bottle!" and she hugs her water bottle and says, "Stay with me, all right? Oh, I love you", she said. She always talks about funny things, I like her. We often try to catch ladybugs, too.

My best friend forever in fairy land

Once upon a time there was a girl in fairy land. That day was her first day of school at Red Mushroom school. She played alone. Nobody wanted to play with her. I think I wanted to play with her. "Hello, what's your name?" I asked her. "My name is Jumima", said the girl. " I am Tamerina", I said. She asked me, "Do you want to play with me?" I said,"Yes, of course! I like to play with you". "Let's play together", said Jumima. "You are so nice. Nobody wants to play with me, but you do", said Jumima. "Don't worry. Everybody at Red Mushroom school is nice. It just take time to get to know someone new. You will have many friends soon", I said. So, everyday they play together at school. Jumima and Tamerina become best friend forever in fairy land.

Ladybugs

Lady beetles or you can call them ladybugs. Thank you.
Well, you know some of ladybugs are poisonous, and some of ladybugs are called Hutching ladybugs.
If they are Hutching ladybugs, their color is yellow. If they are poisonous, their color is orange. If they are just ladybugs, they are red.
You know ladybugs can fly. All ladybugs can fly, and sometimes they are tickling you if you touch them. Ladybugs are cute, and they are not disgusting.
Ladybugs have dots on their skin and the color is black. Ladybugs are nice, too!
The end. This speech is about ladybugs.
Oh, and I have one more sentence: I love ladybugs.
