Hot air balloon

Hello,

Early in the morning, at 6:00 am, we went to the backyard of the Old Parliament Building. Today is the last day of the balloon spectacular to celebrate the Canberra Festival 2011.

However, the weather is not good, so there isn't any balloon flying today.

We can see the air force team prepared the hot air balloon. It is not easy to prepare the hot air balloon. It needs a lot of efforts!

We can go inside the balloon!

We also enjoyed the beautiful rose garden and the musical performance

Bikes

Hello,

Almost everyday I go to school by bike and my mom runs following me. I enjoy riding my bike, cause the air is clean and fresh. Sometimes we stop many times to enjoy the view or take picture. A lot of my friends go to school by bike, too. Some of them use tandem bike with their mom/dad. Some use scooters, and some parents attach a baby seat or child carrier on the back or front of their bikes.

We put our bikes in the bike parking beside our school by 9:00 am, cause the parking will be locked at 9:15 am. The parents say goodbye, hug and kiss their children, then they walk or take bus to their offices or university. At 3:00 pm the parking is open again, everybody takes their bikes and go home. Very interesting!

Happy Birthday

Hello,

Yesterday was my big brother's birthday, the same date with Trinh's birthday. This afternoon I came to her birthday party. The theme of her birthday was Harry Potter. So we were dressed up like characters in Harry Potter movie. It was so fun!
These are Tali and me. We played on the tree house.

These are some of our friends who came to Trinh's birthday

We played limbo.

Trinh was turned seven yesterday. Make a wish, Trinh!

We played twister.

"Oh you may not think I'm pretty, but don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find a smarter hat than me." Am I going to be in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin???

I was playing in the playground when we were waiting for the bus to go home.

We really had a good time. Thank you for having me, Trinh.
Happy birthday Ah and Trinh!

Dragon boat racing

Hi,

Do you know that the National Gallery of Australia is facing back the Lake Burley Griffin? When Trinh, Phuong and I were drawing in the garden of the National Gallery of Australia, my mom told me that she heard people cheered, so she run half of the lake. She saw dragon boat racing on the other side of the lake! It was almost over, but she still could catch some pictures.

There are 20 paddlers in pairs, 1 drummer or caller, and 1 sweep (a steerer) at the rear of the boat.
The drummer leads the paddlers throughout a race using the rhythmic drum beat to indicate the frequency and synchronicity of all the paddlers' strokes.

The start and finish place

When the race is over, the crew takes the drum and the dragon off the boat.

Go... go... paddlers! Go .... go .... dragon boat!

We dry our pottery and we can bring it home.
