Small and big creatures in the summer at ANU

Hello,

It is summer! It should be hot, but it is a wet summer! It is raining almost everyday!

This is Patrick, a sulphur-crested cockatoos (Cacatua galerita), in Coomb's Building, ANU. Patrick? Is it a male cockatoo? Well, Carolyn named it Patrick. However, if it is a female, then we can call her Patricia. Simple. It is nice. It likes to show off its crest. Beautiful! Carolyn always give some seeds to it. It likes to peck anything, including the window frame!
There are black cockatoos in Mount Ainslie, near my school, but we haven't had a chance to go there.

These are cicadas. They like to sing! I like to hear them singing, but it is gross when they are molting.
