Decorative pictures

Hello,

These are some of decorative pictures drawn by Year 5/6 students in my school. They take their own pictures, then they decorate them. They are very creative, aren't they?

Sculpture garden

Hello,

This morning my mom, Trinh, Phuong (Trinh's mom), Tante Alfa and I had a chance to go to sculpture garden, an event that was held at the garden of the National Gallery of Australia. It was awesome!!!

An aboriginal artwork.

The clays that we used to make sculptures.

We work together to make a giant dog sculpture.

Our sculptures.

Patch artwork.

We have to wait for our turn. Finally, Trinh and I get a chance to paint!

We hang our paintings, wait till they dry and then we can bring them home

Grandmas and grandpa are volunteering at the event.

An artwork made of straws.

Giant butterfly.

We make pottery.

We dry our pottery and we can bring it home.

A girl is looking at the drawing on the wall.

A blue and red jazz band.

A hanging giant ball sculpture in the garden.

Giant pears sculpture.

We really had a good time this morning! Happy sculpture day!

Birds

Hi,

My seniors in Year 5/6 made beautiful paintings about birds. The theme is "diversity: similarities and differences in the birds". I hope one day I can make beautiful paintings like them.

Flamingo, by Zoe

Toucan, by Annabel

Owl, by Ryan. It reminds me of a movie, the Guardian of the Ga'hoole.

Cockatoo, by Clare

Parrot, by Bobby

String art

Hi,

These are my string arts at school. They are simple. I still have to learn a lot, if I want to make the difficult one.

Colors

Hello,
I am learning about colors and color mixing, and apply it in my picture.

This is an "abstract". I made it with watercolor. "Abstract is in your mind when you don't know or you are not sure what you are going to do", said my mom.

These are two beautiful butterflies and a flower. I made it with oil pastels.
I remembered a beautiful friendship story called, "Don't Worry Bear", that was read by my mom before I went to sleep last night. A little bear has a friend, a caterpillar. One day the caterpillar made a cocoon. "I'll stay inside for a while. But I promise you'll see me again", said the caterpillar. Bear got worried. He came to check the cocoon. Every time he checked it, the caterpillar inside the cocoon said, "Don't worry, Bear. I am not afraid of the dark... A little wind doesn't bother me....I am not getting wet... I am very warm and cozy...." Bear stopped worrying. Until one day, Bear found the cocoon empty. The caterpillar was gone. Bear was afraid he would never see him again. Then the silk moth landed on Bear's paw. "Don't worry, Bear. I am right here", he said.

This painting is called "By the lake". I made it with watercolor. I am still learning how to paint pine trees, bushes and lake. It is difficult, but I cannot give up. I have to practice, practice and practice. "Practice makes perfect", said my mom.
